Already offering discounts?

If you already offer a discount to over 60s, why not offer it to all cardholders?
By giving Gold Card holders the same discount you could tap into the powerful seniors market without the hassle of setting up, implementing and advertising a whole new pricing structure.

A number of businesses have already done this – and they all tell us that it really does work!

But don’t just give the discount – sign up to Gold Card and we’ll make sure you get maximum publicity as a Gold Card business partner and all for free!

What sort of discounts can I offer?

You might want to offer a straightforward percentage discount, a value added promotion or an incentive to encourage more cardholders to use your business.

Here are just some of the examples of the discounts that are currently being offered to cardholders by shops and services who have already signed up to the Gold Card scheme:

  • Two for the price of one entry into the gardens
  • 10 per cent when spending £10 or more
  • 10 per cent within a five mile radius
  • 25 per cent off membership
  • 10 per cent Monday to Friday 9am to 1pm
  • concessionary admission
  • meal offer Tuesday and Thursday lunchtimes
  • 10 per cent off food Monday 12noon-2pm
  • 10 per cent anytime plus free tea or coffee 9.30 to 11am daily
  • ……and many, many more.

Derbyshire County Council reserves the right not to accept a discount – but as a general rule if you believe a discount or offer will increase your business, it’s got to be good for cardholders too.

You can see the sort of discounts other businesses are offering by visiting the discounts database in the main Gold Card section.
