1. Applying in person
If you are a High Peak resident you can apply in person with your own photograph by visiting your local council office at the following times:
Buxton, Town Hall, Market Place - Mon to Fri 9am to 4.30pm
Chapel-en-le-Frith, Parish Council, Town Hall - Mon to Fri 9am to 12.30pm
Chinley, council offices, Hayfield Road - Mon to Fri 9am to 4.30pm
Glossop, Municipal Buildings - Mon to Fri 9am to 4.30pm
New Mills, Town Council, Town Hall - Mon to Thur 9am-5pm, Fri 9am to 4.30pm
Whaley Bridge, Town Council, Mechanics Institute - Mon to Fri 9am to 12.30pm
Free photography sessions
You can make an appointment to have your photograph taken free of charge at the Buxton and Glossop council offices. To book an appointment telephone 0845 129 77 77, 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday.
2. Applying at a post office
You can also apply in person with your own photograph at the following post offices:
Bamford, Buxton (Higher Buxton and Spring Gardens), Castleton, Chapel-en-le-Frith (Market Place and Town End), Charlesworth, Chinley, Edale, Furness Vale, Gamesley, Hadfield, Hayfield, Hope, New Mills (Co-op Late Shop), Peak Dale, Simmondley, Tintwistle, Whaley Bridge (Canal Street and Horwich End).
Please remember that you will need to bring along a completed application form, a passport-sized photograph and your proof documents. When you apply you will be told how long your card will take, and whether it will be posted to you or when it will be available to collect.
3. Applying by post
You can also apply for a Gold Card by sending your completed application form (which you can download from the more information section below) with photocopies of your proof documents and a passport size photograph to:
