Q How can I make sure I buy safe toys for my children?
A All toys intended for children under the age of 14 must be CE marked. This is the manufacturer's certification that the toys comply with the Toys (Safety) Regulations.
However, Trading Standards purchase CE marked toys and sometimes they fail to comply.
It is important to examine the toy to check for sharp points/small points and check the manufacturer's age recommendations. You could look for a recognised quality symbol such as the lion mark.
