The rooms we have available for marriage ceremonies are suitable for a range of weddings from an intimate occasion with say, 20 guests, to the 250 guests who can be accommodated in the council's formal Council Chamber.

A handsome, oak panelled room with enough space to accommodate 100 guests.

Council Chamber

This grand and lofty room offers tiered seating arranged in concentric crescents and can accommodate up to 250 people.

You will need to book a registrar to conduct your wedding at County Hall.

The Superintendent Registrar for Matlock is based at Bakewell Register Office and can be contacted on 01629 812261.

Opening hours are Monday - Friday 1pm to 4.45pm, excluding Wednesdays.

You will also need to contact the local register office(s) in the district(s) in which you live, to give notice of your marriage.
