Current fees

Birth or death certificates issued from a register in current use cost £3.50 each.

Once the register containing the entry has been archived, the cost will increase to that of replacement certificates.

Replacement certificates

Short birth certificates cost £5.50 each.

Full certificates of birth, death or marriage cost £7 each.

Marriage/civil partnership fees

Notice of marriage/civil partnerships cost £30 each.

Attendance for marriage/civil partnership at a register office, including one certificate (Monday to Saturday) costs £43.50.

Attendance for marriage at approved premises, including one certificate (Monday to Saturday) costs £228.50.

Attendance for marriage at approved premises, including one certificate (Sunday or Bank Holiday) costs £278.50.

Attendance for civil partnership at approved premises, including one certificate (Monday to Saturday) costs £123.50.

Attendance for civil partnership at approved premises, including one certificate (Sunday or Bank Holiday) costs £143.50.

Please Note: A non-refundable deposit of £40 is payable at the time you book your wedding or civil partnership ceremony.

Other ceremony fees

Commitment ceremony, renewal of marriage vows or baby naming ceremonies:

• at a register office (Monday to Saturday) costs £85

• at an approved premise (Monday to Saturday) costs £120

• at an approved premise (Sunday or Bank Holiday) costs £140.

Please note:  A non-refundable deposit of £40 is payable at the time you book your commitment ceremony, renewal of marriage vows or baby naming ceremony.

For you to conduct a certificate search of the indices for up to six hours on any day the charge is £18.
