Employment statistics

There are two main sources of information about employment:

The Annual Business Inquiry contains details of employment in local firms. The figures are broken down by industry and size of workplace:

• Employment by area (Derbyshire and its districts) 
• Employment by type of industry
• Employment by size of workplace
• Number of workplaces by size (employees)    

The Annual Population Survey provides information about the resident workforce. Statistics include the number of employed residents broken down by industry and occupation, unemployment, economic activity, qualifications and training. The figures are updated every quarter.
