Swadlincote and District 50+ Forum
Who are we?
The Swadlincote District 50+ Forum was formed in 2005. At the first open meeting we had twelve members, since then the membership has grown to over 700. We are now the biggest 50+ Forum in the county, giving Derbyshire's 50+ community a huge voice.
We started by tackling local issues such as gangs roaming the streets, getting the council to clean the alleyways and repair and replace fencing. We still deal with local issues and bring concerns to DOPAG and our local MP.
The primary aim of our organisation is to help senior consumers and their relatives to sensibly and rationally discuss their future and to increase the health and well-being of the local older population. We wish to reduce the fear of crime and provide information for people to make informed choices.
We shall make every effort to protect their interests and actively encourage and welcome the participation of all concerned.
