Dronfield 50+ forum

Who are we?

There are currently 15 such Forums across the whole of Derbyshire, some of which have been in existence for several years. Dronfield Forum has, however, been operating for two years.

Although all have the same overall objectives, they have pursued different approaches, some choosing to lobby or try to hold to account, other organizations, whilst others are leaning more towards social events. Dronfield is allegedly already well served with groups for special interests, sports or social activities etc, therefore we have tried to involve and enlighten people about more serious issues likely to affect all of us.

We have a small management team of volunteers meeting monthly to review achievements and organise open meetings (held in the Civic Centre). These are generally held every three months, and we have had presentations/debates tackling such subjects as poor bus services, problems with pavements and footpaths, and are currently looking at care services for the more elderly age groups. We would be more than happy to have additional volunteers to the committee to allow us to widen our activities.
