Chesterfield 50 Plus Inspired Group
Chesterfield 50 Plus forum was started in 2002. We now have approximately 210 members, and have a regular attendance of 50 to 60 at our meetings, which are held by kind permission of Chesterfield Borough Council on the second Thursday of alternate months, from 10am until 12 noon.
At our meetings, we invite well qualified and recommended speakers to address concerns which we feel interesting and relevant. We have tried to encourage our own members to address a meeting for up to 10 minutes on matters that they feel to be important. This is, of course, in addition to the regular reports from members of the Management Committee, as to information they have acquired or meetings they have attended.
We regard the attendance of committee members and others at relevant meetings to be very important. Among meetings regularly attended have been DOPAG (Derbyshire Older People's Advisory Group), Derbyshire Carers, Mental Health Groups, Council Tax Planning Meetings, meetings of local forums, LINk (Local Involvement Networks), the NDVA (North Derbyshire Voluntary Action) and the First Contact Planning Group.
