Alfreton, Ripley Districts 50+ Forum
Who are we?
We are set up to cover the communities in and around Alfreton, Pinxton, Ripley and South Normanton and currently have over 140 members.
Over the last four years we have held many events with invited speakers to discuss issues and present valuable information to the community, solved individual problems, had representatives from many organisations including The PCT, Alfreton Shop Mobility and LINK, CVS, etc.
Some of our members have become Mentors and run classes in Chair Based Exercise, we have set up mobile phone and computer 'buddying' sessions, been instrumental in the formation of a local branch of 'The University of the 3rd Age' (U3A) and become involved in international collaborations looking at the elderly in countries across Europe.
The Management Committee is currently led by Chair - Jean Pass. The committee welcome and encourage any new members.
We produce a full colour 'Newsletter' regularly throughout the year to keep people informed of what we are doing, exciting news and dates for the diary.
