Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) cards

b_line2 card b_line is Derbyshire County Council's and Derby City Council's travel, discount and library card for young people aged 11 to 18 living in Derbyshire.

Most silver b_line2 cards issued from September 2008 are also proof of age cards. These cards display the PASS (Proof of Age Standards Scheme) hologram on the front in the bottom right hand corner.

This is a cast-iron guarantee of the age of the cardholder so traders can be reassured that someone showing this card is old enough to buy age-restricted goods.

Old-style silver b-line2 cards without a PASS hologram will indicate how old a cardholder is because the card will display their date of birth. They do not though, offer the same level of proof of age and should not be accepted as a guarantee for buying age-restricted products.
