Relationships and sexual health for workplaces

Sexual health is important for the overall health and wellbeing of individuals, couples, families and communities.

Good sexual health includes:

  • self-care and staying well
  • having positive respectful experiences
  • being free from coercion
  • respecting everyone's sexual rights

Sexual health can affect someone's mental health as well as their emotional and social wellbeing.

Support and resources

Support and advice regarding relationships and sexual health is available through an individual's registered GP practice, local pharmacies, Derby and Derbyshire sexual health service and many other voluntary and community organisations.

Additionally, those of school age receive relationships and sex education and are able to access support from their public health or school nurse.

Sexual Health Network events

The Sexual Health Network offers a chance for professionals working with those affected by sexual health to come together, learn and share knowledge, ideas and good practice.

The Integrated Sexual Health Service (ISHS) runs the steering group, made up of multi-agency professionals from across Derby and Derbyshire, which develops, delivers and co-ordinates the running of these meetings.

The events run bi-annually and are delivered in both Derbyshire and Derby venues. To subscribe to the mailing list for these events please email dchst.yoursexualhealthmatters@nhs.net
