Regeneration Plan

The Derbyshire Regeneration Plan sets out the council’s priorities for economic regeneration for 2006 to 2009.

The Plan sets out the council’s focus for economic regeneration policy and programmes for three years from 2006 to 2009, within the context of the Derbyshire Community Strategy (opens in a new window) and the Council Plan (opens in a new window)

The overall aim is to promote the sustainable development of the local economy through activities which  support business growth; improve the skills levels of local residents; develop the infrastructure; improve local authority procurement procedures and reduce the burden of regulation.

Twenty priority economic regeneration activities are identified to take forward the Plan, under the following three themes:

·         Improving infrastructure and quality of environment

·         Supporting enterprise and business development

·         Improving skills and access to employment

To achieve these objectives the council will work closely with all stakeholders with an interest in the county’s future economic prosperity.

The Derbyshire Regeneration Plan is an evolving internal document, that will be regularly reviewed and updated to respond to new economic needs and concerns.
