Since becoming members of the Derbyshire Youth Forum, your representatives have been busy.
As well as working on the ‘This is me’ campaign, they’ve been involved in putting forward ideas on how we can improve facilities for young people in Derbyshire and have also been meeting MPs and other important figures to tell them what young people feel, think and need.
You can find out more about their work on the b_line website.
This is me
Like many young people, the Youth Forum is concerned about the image of young people and are worried about them being stereotyped as yobs! They wanted to do something to help improve the image of young people and joined forces with council staff to come up with and develop the 'This is me' campaign.
The Youth Forum have been involved at all stages of the campaign's development and chose the name ‘This is me’. They have also taken part in photo shoots for campaign posters and are the faces of the campaign.
Campaign posters
Thirteen members of the Youth Forum answered questions about themselves to form their own profiles for the posters and were then individually photographed. Keep your eye out for your Youth Forum representatives' posters in your area - you'll see them up in schools and other places around the county.
You can view the poster profiles and find out what Youth Forum members think, enjoy and worry about by clicking on their names. You can also download their posters too so you can put them up in your area, youth club or school.
They aren’t finished yet!
The Youth Forum still have lots planned to help promote ‘This is me’ and change people’s attitudes toward young people. Keep an eye on the features section for more information.
