Prisoner Records Search Form

Prisoner records can be searched by entering your surname of interest in the surname box and submitting the search. If you are unsure as to the spelling of the surname you are researching, you can enter the first two or three letters and the search engine will display all the possibilities. For example, searching for “smi” in the surname field would retrieve records for Smith, Smithers, Smithson etc. The results box will provide details of the individual, including details of their crime and their parish.

The reference number will also appear in the first box. This number can be supplied to us in order to obtain a copy of the original entry.  We can be emailed at record.office@derbyshire.gov.uk or telephoned on 01629 585347.

Currently the database covers the years 1800-1875.
