Action grants

Our Action Grants scheme has made a huge difference in local communities all across Derbyshire.


Our Action Grant scheme has now finished and all applicants have been informed whether they were successful. The results for the final round are attached to this page along with the results from all the previous rounds.

We have given hundreds of grants to groups who are running projects that benefit their communities. Thank you to everyone who has been involved. Here are some of the groups putting their Action Grants to good use.

Heath Village Community Association

The grant we gave to Heath Village Community Association has paid for protective clothing, specialist tools and plants that their volunteers use to help spruce up the village.

Barrow Hill Community Trust - bike workshop

The grant we gave to the Barrow Hill Community Trust has helped to finance a bike workshop where youngsters are learning new skills and getting new opportunities in life.

South Wingfield Local History Group

South Wingfield local history group celebrates the history and heritage of the parish. We gave them an Action Grant to help them stage an exhibition drawing together the work of the group and the local community.

Cromford Canal and Codnor Park Reservoir Group

Cromford Canal and Codnor Park Reservoir Group work to improve the canal environment from Riddings Golden Valley to the Erewash Canal at Jacksdale. We gave them an Action Grant to fund equipment for their monthly litter picking events.

Cotmanhay Community Network in Erewash - Tiny Tots

Cotmanhay Community Network run many activities to support local people. We gave them an Action Grant to buy resources for a new Tiny Tots group.

Dronfield Parish Young Voices

Young Voices are a recently established singing group for youngsters in Dronfield. We gave them an Action Grant which funded sessions with a vocal coach, hire of premises and music folders.

Eyam Repair Café

Eyam Repair Café helps to cut waste and build up repair skills. We gave them an Action Grant to buy equipment and do some publicity. Find out more about repair cafés.

Fitting In

Fitting In is a fitness group in Buxton. Members enjoy weekly exercise sessions along with opportunities to socialise, make new friends and offer mutual support. We gave them an Action Grant to buy extra exercise equipment.

Peakfit2

Peakfit2 runs a campaign called 'CANDO' which gets children and their families active to improve their health. The club teaches children of all abilities and fitness levels to use specially designed Nordic walking poles to encourage them to go trekking in the countryside and try other outdoor challenges. Peakfit2 currently organises activities in the Buxton, Dronfield and Derbyshire Dales areas but is planning to expand countywide.
