Social care & health
We provide a range of services to help support families. Provision of any service is as a result of an assessment of your needs by a social worker. Assessments will be in line with the Children Act 1989 and our access to services criteria.
The aim of our family support services is to provide effective support to families in crisis and children in need, to strengthen families and help children remain within their own communities and family units as far as possible.
Family support centres
There are a number of family support centres across the county. They primarily work with young children, but also with older siblings and parents/carers to enhance life chances. Our key aim is to provide intensive work with families to prevent family breakdown. Find out about the family support centres.

Most children's day care is provided via the Early Years and Child Care Partnership. Day care can be a part of a Family Support Package may be provided by us. If you think you need this service please contact your local office.
Do you have teenage children?
The teenage years are challenging both for the teenager and his or her parents. It is a time when children begin to want control over their own lives and need to learn how to take responsibility for their actions. It can be a time of conflict, stress and worry.
