Development workers

Our three part-time development workers are now in post.

The Children’s Trust has recognised the importance of the role of the Voluntary, Community and Independent sector in helping them plan and deliver the wide range of services required to meet the needs of the Children and Young people and their families in Derbyshire.

Key issues were firstly, how to ensure the VCI sector has a clear and transparent route into the decision making processes and that they are kept informed of developments and opportunities. Secondly was to ensure that the VCI sector is supported to develop safe and high quality services.

With these issues in mind the Children’s Trust has funded three part-time development workers to work across the county.

They will be working with groups who would like to get more involved with the work of the Children’s Trust or who need help accessing training or putting policies into place to ensure they are operating safely for example.

The other aspect of their work will be to support representatives of the sector to gather views and feed those views into the Children’s Trust.

The three workers are employed by South Derbyshire CVS and are based in South Derbyshire, Amber Valley and Derbyshire Dales CVS’s.

You can read a bit about them and find out how to contact them in the documents in the related documents section.

If your organisation would like to be kept up-to-date with information and developments in the sector, please add your details to the Derbyshire Directory.
