Lead Professional (LP)

The Lead Professional (LP) is the person selected at the 'Team Around the Child' meeting in conjunction with the child, parent or young person, who acts as the co-ordinator of services and as a central point of contact.

It should be somebody that is trusted by the family, who can support them in making choices and working through the systems.

The Lead Professional ensures that the child or young person receives the appropriate interventions according to the action plan, reviews take place as planned and the relevant people are updated as neccessary.

A Lead Professional is not responsible for the service delivery of the agencies.
