Once you are approved

Following approval, your local fostering support worker will support you in your fostering role and provide you with any advice and equipment you need to foster. You will be required to sign the foster carer agreement.

You will receive:

a copy of the Foster Carer Handbook
an ID card showing that you are a Derbyshire foster carer
equipment as required
a copy of the common induction program that you will undertake during the first 12 months
the name of another experienced foster carer to act as a mentor during the first six months.

After this work and effort, you will have your first placement and begin your fostering career with Derbyshire.
