Social care & health
The Derbyshire Fostering Service is the main provider of foster homes in Derbyshire.
Our role is to provide a range of services to meet the needs of Derbyshire children and their families and work closely with children’s social work teams and other agencies to respond to the changing needs and demand for fostering services.
Fostering has changed a great deal over the years. Foster carers provide a wide range of placements, support and services, for the many different needs of our vulnerable children, young people and their families.
We work in partnership with other child care agencies in Derbyshire to develop and deliver a comprehensive range of services aimed at ensuring that children do not become accommodated, or remain so, except where this is consistent with their assessed needs.
The last Ofsted inspection found our service to be a good service with some outstanding features.
