Adoptive parents

Adoptive parents, wherever they adopted from and however long ago, are welcome to use Derbyshire’s adoption support services.

The adoption support team arrange regular support events for adoptive parents and their families throughout the year. These include training events and social events.

The team also run a support group for adopted children aged 10 and above so that they can have the opportunity to meet with other adopted children and discover that they are not the only ones.

There is a quarterly newsletter sent out to all adoptive families who are on our mailing list.

Adoptive parents can also attend one of the regular surgeries held across the county for individual advice and support to anyone affected by adoption. Adoption Surgeries take place one a month in Ripley, Chesterfield and Buxton.
