Social care & health
The Derbyshire Better Care, Higher Standards Charter is for people over the age of 18, or a carer of any age who provides support to an adult, who, because of problems associated with old age, long-term illness or disability, need help from Derbyshire social care services, the health service or housing departments.
The charter is produced by a partnership made up of us, Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) and district and borough councils in Derbyshire.
What the Charter tells you
The Derbyshire Better Care, Higher Standards Charter describes some of the services that may be available to people who need long term help to manage their day-to-day lives, and the arrangements we make for responding to requests for help.
It explains how people can get the help they need, the standards that everyone can reasonably expect of staff and professionals in social care services, health and housing and explains what can be done if things go wrong. A list of local contacts, useful addresses and telephone numbers is also included in the Charter for a range of agencies, including voluntary organisations, who may be able to offer help.
Charter Booklet
The charter booklet is updated and published on 30th June every year. The 2007-2008 edition is the seventh we have produced.
A copy of the booklet is available by clicking on the heading in the More Information section at the bottom of this page.
