Fairer charging

Fairer charging financial assessment information.

The leaflet attached in the more information section on this page explains in more detail the fairer charging financial assessment process and answers some frequently asked questions.

Who is the Fairer Charging Financial Assessment for?
This assessment is for anyone that pays their own housing related support charges and is not in receipt of housing benefit. This could be for example a community alarm or warden service.

You can apply for an assessment if you receive a support service that is funded by the Derbyshire Supporting People Grant. If you are unsure about this you can contact your support provider or the Supporting People team direct - use this link to contact us.

What if I am in receipt of housing benefit?
The Supporting People team should already pay for your housing related support charge from the Supporting People Grant, if you are in receipt of a Supporting People funded service.

If you are paying your own support charge, please contact your support provider who will give you a new client form/new housing benefit claimant form to complete or you can contact us.

Which geographical area do you cover?
We fund housing related support services across Derbyshire but excluding Derby City as they have their own Supporting People Grant managed by Derby City Council (opens in a new window).

How can I apply?
You can apply for an assessment by completing and returning the request for a fairer charging financial assessment form available from the more information section on this page.
