Social care & health
We do charge for some services, such as day care, meals on wheels and laundry. These are contributions to a subsidised service.
There is no charge for our home care service and no charge if we provide the home care service by commissioning an agency.
The main area of income we receive in social care is through the charges for residential and nursing home placements.
This is a complicated and specialist area of work and our staff will go through your income and capital assets with you, to ensure that you are being asked to pay the correct amount.
There are some documents available which will help you understand in broad terms what we take into account in making our calculations and you can access these in the more information section.
If you have any questions on how this might apply to you or someone you care for, please contact your local area office
You may also like to find out about direct payments, a way of managing the way you pay for your care.
