The board and local boards bring together all the public services in Derbyshire: the district and borough councils, NHS Trusts, adult care, housing agencies, police, education and community and voluntary organisations.

They come together to:

  • Valuing People Now - Making it happen in Derbyshire – the national strategy for learning disability.

  • Make big changes and improve the way all public and community services support people with a learning disability.

  • Promote the rights, independence, choice and inclusion of people with learning disabilities.

The “Be in Control” charter campaign for people with a learning disability challenges everyone to take action. You can find out more by downloading the charter from the related documents section.
