Social care & health
If you have developed a hearing impairment you will receive a service from our sensory impairment teams. Teams can offer advice on available services and equipment.
We can support you and your family in looking at ways to improve hearing skills, ie. how lip reading can help, how your family and friends speak to you, and situations to avoid.
Staff work closely with health colleagues and will have received up to date training on hearing loss and relevant issues, ie. lip reading, communication skills, making the best of your hearing, and coping with discrimination.
We have a number of staff teams who provide these services. All team members are trained in deaf awareness. We can offer home visits to assess your needs and we support all our local voluntary services.
