Aids resource team - Training

We provide HIV awareness training for a wide range of staff including the groups below:

• Home helps
• Foster carers
• Social workers
• Residential workers
• Management
• Day centre staff
• Family Support workers
• Partner Agencies

We train staff on the following specific HIV/AIDS issues:

HIV/AIDS cuts across all aspects of services we provide and has implications for all client groups as well as touching on our own personal lives
As providers of personal care, in face-to-face contact with members of the public, training for all staff should include some of the following, but should be geared to individual needs:

• Health and safety
• Transmission of HIV
• Counselling/testing
• Procedures
• Confidentiality
• Sex education/equal opportunities
• Employment rights
