Social care & health
Our services are developed in ways which enable those who use them to have a choice and to feel that they have control over their lives.
Misinformation can lead to fears and prejudices which must be overcome to ensure the best possible services are provided to those who need them, at the right time.
The skills and abilities which social workers can offer are the same in working with people with HIV/AIDS as with anyone else, but knowledge of the facts and the implications for practice will enhance those skills.
This will promote the development of a service which is non-discriminatory, easily accessible, empowering and relevant to the needs of the community.
Please use the following link to access the Derbyshire Directory (opens in a new window) which provides details of organisations who support people affected by HIV.
Supporting People can also offer you help and advice about housing options, help to live more independently or maintain your home.
