Out of hours care

If you have an urgent or crisis situation that occurs outside of normal office hours, we have an out of hours service across the county. We have a number of social workers available to respond to urgent and crisis situations as they occur.

The service provides management support for home carers who work outside the normal office hours.

Home carers provide care to vulnerable individuals in the community when crisis situations occur to help prevent admission to long term care or hospital. They also provide care to individuals who are discharged from hospital or emergency wards, during these times.

How do I access the out of hours service?

The service can be accessed via Call Derbyshire on 08456 058 058 where information will be gathered and, if required, passed on to the Duty Service Manager who will make appropriate arrangements to deal with the situation.

When does the out of hours service operate?

The Derbyshire Adult Care Out of Hours Service (opens in a new window) operates from 6am to 9.30am weekday mornings and 5pm to midnight weekday evenings.

The service also operates from 6am to midnight at weekends and bank holidays
