Housework

To live as independently as possible, you may need support to stay in your own home. This may include help with day to day activities such as housework and laundry.

Arranging your own help with housework or laundry

You can make your own arrangements for a cleaning or laundry service to help you, or help may be provided following an assessment.

Some services will be listed in our Trusted Trader information. Below is a list of the places you might find helpful in your search for a suitable cleaning, washing or ironing service:

How we can help with housework

We have a duty to assess people who appear as though they may benefit from a care service in their own home. This can include practical care such as help with housework, shopping, laundry and meals, as part of an overall service. If a need is identified, care at home can be provided by a range of service providers.

Following the assessment to identify your eligibility to services, you would initially be offered access to a direct payment scheme. A direct payment is a payment made to you so that you can buy your own social care services directly from a provider.

In the first instance please contact Call Derbyshire for an initial assessment of your needs on 08456 058 058.

How we can help with laundry services

We provide a laundry service which is designed to help support people at home.

Predominately this is a fortnightly service with a fixed number of items. Dependant on need, a weekly service would be available. The items are picked up from your home and are returned freshly laundered the following fortnight or week.

This arrangement is subject to individuals meeting the Fair Access to Care criteria and Co-funding arrangements
