What is housing related support (supporting people)?
Supporting People is a government programme that aims to help people live more independently and to maintain their accommodation. It also funds organisations to provide housing related support.
A wide range of vulnerable people receive housing related support funded services, including:
- people with mental ill health
- people with learning disabilities
- homeless people and families
- young people
- teenage parents
- people with drug or alcohol problems
- people at risk of domestic violence
- travellers
- ex-offenders or people at risk of offending.
