Apply for a Gold Card

You can have a Gold Card if:

  • you've reached state pension age
  • if you have a qualifying disability, regardless of your age

Find out who qualifies for a Gold Card or check your state pension age.

If this is your first application for a Gold Card you can apply in one of several ways.

Online

You can apply for a Gold Card online. You'll need to upload a photograph.

If you're applying because you have reached State Pension Age, you'll need to upload proof of age and address documents.

If you're applying for a disabled pass, you'll need to upload proof of identification, proof of address and eligibility documents.

Apply for a Gold Card

In person

You can apply for your Gold Card at your local district or borough council, or Derby City Council if you live in Derby.

By post

Ask your local district or borough council, or Derby City Council, for an application form. Or pick one up from any Derbyshire library.

Send your completed application form, a recent, colour, standard passport-sized photograph with your name and address written on the back and a photocopy of your proof documents, not originals, to your local district or borough council, or Derby City Council. Details of where to send your application form are listed in the application form.
